Christmas movies

Posted by Arden Wallace

My parents and I have been using our http://www.directstartv.com/ to Christmas movies the past few weeks. Since it is so close to the holidays, a lot of the stations are airing classic and new holiday movies. It has been a lot of fun to be able to watch a new movie every night. I am a movie person anyway, so I really enjoy it. Anytime I watch television, I look for a movie instead of a show. I think it has something to do with my attention span. I prefer to focus on something for a long period of time.

We watched Christmas Vacation last night, which we watch probably every year. It really helped me to relax and to just enjoy myself around the family. I do not think people take enough time to do that anymore. That is why Christmas is so nice.

It is a rush leading up to the holiday, but during and after, everyone gets to take a breather. Tomorrow my favorite movie will be on the same channel and I am really looking forward to being able to just kick back, relax and have some time with my family we usually do not get to enjoy.

Wheel of Fortune

This guest post from Hong Alexander

One of the earliest pictures that my mom has of me is me as a toddler, wearing only a diaper, standing directly in front of the TV watching Wheel of Fortune. I was that kid. The obnoxious one who preferred Vanna and Pat over Oscar and Big Bird. Later I would be a voracious reader, and would go on to major in English in college. My passion for words is deeply engrained, is what I’m getting at here. My mom laughs about how I was solving the Wheel of Fortune puzzles before the contestants could at age five.

I would yell them at the screen and smirk victoriously when the answer was finally relieved. In case you were wondering, I’m still just as obnoxious—while few people share my obsession with Wheel of Fortune, most people downright HATE it if I’m watching it with them. I don’t even really give anyone else a chance to try at the puzzle as I crow the answer out as quickly as possible. I’m a real joy.

Wheel comes on weeknights at 7 pm EST. Check direct tv colorado for listings. I dare you to solve a puzzle before me.

Full Time Mommy

Guest written by our friend Gladys Fuentes

When I decided to quit work and stay at home with my daughters I had no idea it would have such an impact on our family. I know it’s really great for the girls but it’s taken me a while to adjust to the change and sometimes I feel a little lost in a world without corporate work. The good news is that I’ve slowly started my own business and it’s actually doing really well!

I sell personalizedstationery and I make it all myself at home and I can’t believe how much money it’s bringing in on the side. I went to www.Bank-card-Processing.com to see about how to take credit cards and talked to all the wedding planners and venues in town and word-of-mouth is really helping my client list grow. I love having something that’s all mine and I know my kids and husband appreciate that I have more of a life…it’s better for them and for me and I’m a much more pleasant person to be around!

My Personal Favorite TV Show

Guest post written by my buddy Fidel Hernandez

There are thousands of different programs on TV. Narrowing down the ones that you like the most can be insanely difficult. There are science fiction shows, reality shows, fiction shows, non fiction shows, sports and other things. All of them are interesting to different people. Personally I like TV shows that give me something in return other than just entertainment. I like learning from my Television so I personally really enjoy the show called HeadRush. HeadRush is a show where Kari Byron, the host does experiments and has the audience guess what is going to happen. It's mostly designed for children but the questions can be very challenging at times.
The best part about the show is the fact that the main part of it is Mythbusters. They run a full Mythbusters episode and in the commercial break slots Kari Byron shows up and does her experiments. So, Headrush is basically Mythbusters without any commercials. I don't really know why Science channel does this as they don't make money off of their commercials. Who am I to complain? With Headrush I get a good dose of knowledge every time I watch it and I am entertained. Plus, the host Kari Byron is pretty easy on the eyes. Overall it's a great show for anyone of any age to watch. It is and will stay my favorite show that I watch on my Satellite TV from ExpertSatellite.com.
